Kootznoowoo held its 48th Annual Meeting of Shareholders via webcast on Friday, May 28, 2021.
The theme for this year’s annual meeting and election was “For Our Grandchildren’s Children”. Kootznoowoo’s new President & CEO Deborah Atuk provided a management report that included a review of the 2020 financial report. Brian Kleinhenz of Terra Verde, Inc. served as the meeting’s keynote speaker.
Four candidates ran for the board’s two open seats. Kootznoowoo’s board is comprised of seven directors who are each elected to serve a three-year term. Incumbents whose terms were up were Ella Bennett and Cooney C. Starr who chose not to seek re-election.
When the election results were announced by the Inspector of Elections, Ella Bennet who has been serving on the Kootznoowoo Board in 1978 was re-elected to another term. Elected to fill the vacated seat of Mr. Starr was Edwell John Jr., who had previously served on the Board from 2001-2004 and later from 2016-2019.
“We are grateful to all the candidates for running for a seat on the board and for their willingness to serve shareholders,” said Deborah J. Atuk, Kootznoowoo’s President & CEO. “Congratulations to Edwell and Ella. The management and staff look forward to working with both of you—as well as the balance of this board—in order to advance the mission of Kootznoowoo, Inc.”
Continuing directors include Harold Frank Jr., H. Jean Hogue, Frank Jack III, Mathew Kookesh, and Melissa M. Kookesh.
At a later date, the Board will convene for a reorganization meeting to elect their Board officers.
